A company was undertaking a major market repositioning, requiring conversion to a new platform. The "readiness" team conducted employee training and prepared desktop systems for the change. However, executive management wanted assurance that every department was 100% ready to conduct business and respond to client requests on the day of the conversion.
A Rock Ledge Resources principal was brought in to manage communications and readiness testing for the project. Key objectives and messages were established, and a program of web-based and print communications to employees, clients, partners and vendors was designed and executed. The principal worked with 16 department heads to identify critical knowledge required to launch the new platform. Three rounds of custom testing were developed and implemented, with 100% participation from employees. Test results were assessed for progress toward the objectives, and further training recommended. To reinforce learning and make the platform transition easier for employees, reference tools and cheat sheets were written.
Despite a tight timeline, all employees completed the readiness testing and performed to expectations immediately after the conversion. Clients, vendors and partners were fully prepared to access and use the new platform and read reports in their new formats.
