Services include change management, conflict resolution and maximizing employee readiness for change situations. Her specialization is confidential, sensitive solutions for work groups experiencing turnover, trauma or tears.
With eleven years in change management and communications consulting, Marlys has worked with small businesses, corporations, educational institutions and non-profits in the fields of health care, medical technology, marketing and advertising, human services and financial and insurance services. Her engagements have included: changing negative attitudes and behavioral patterns; negotiating the issues of employees who have walked out on the job; getting departments to work well together; coaching managers; training in continuous process improvement; preparing employees for major change; resolving internal infighting and solving disagreements between staff and clients. Marlys' real strength is "figuring it out." She has a talent for investigating and pinpointing the root causes of issues, then breaking down barriers, gaining trust and leading people to a better set of behaviors.
Marlys was formerly a writer, project manager, account executive and VP of operations and has earned her stripes. On the executive management team of two fast-growth companies, she's had first-hand experience in crisis management, corporate growth issues, organization design, people management and conflict resolution.

Pivot offers corporate-wide change communications programs to keep employees focused, engaged and productive during planned or unexpected change.
Marlys co-founded and leads Cloudscrapers, the Communications Leadership Group, a peer strategic-level discussion and networking group for executive-level communications professionals (formerly Senior Marketing Communications Roundtable).
Marlys received her BA in English from the University of Minnesota and earned her executive MBA from the University of St. Thomas.
