Rock Ledge Resources > John Hunter > Representative Project - Capital Project Implementation
As a result of changes in legislation, the technology used for the manufacture of cake flour was to be banned. In order to meet customers' product needs following this change in legislation, an alternative production technology was required. The new production methodology needed to be developed and implemented prior to the deadline when the current technology was no longer permitted.
A new thermal cereal processing technology was developed by the technical group. In order to meet future customer needs a new production facility, using a thermal processing technology, was developed. This process included pilot trials, process design, plant design, construction, installation, commissioning and hand over to production operations. A Rock Ledge Resources principal led this project through process technology selection, development, construction, installation and commissioning.
A new $4 million cereals thermal processing facility was installed into a new building, built in the middle of an operating site. Manufacturing operations for the rest of the site continued throughput the project. The plant was designed to enable operation using existing business resources.
